I would like to introduce the two newest members of the Kiwanis Family, the Aktion Clubs of Niagara Falls/Lockport and East Meadow.
This brings our total of new clubs to five this year. The District now has 33 clubs and 686 members.
I had the opportunity to recently participate in the East Meadow Charter/Installation night. The members were highly spirited, excited and ready to serve their community. They already have their first fundraiser planned, a karaoke night to raise funds to send a child to Kamp Kiwanis.
We have a forum scheduled at the District Convention for anyone interested in starting a new Aktion Club or anyone who wants to share ideas and update us on their clubs events and service projects. Members of the Livonia Aktion Club will be assisting us at the convention. We will be selling new Aktion club pins to continue to raise funds for the Eliminate Project.
