It is the time of the year when Kiwanis Clubs across our state choose their leadership teams for the 2018-19 service year.
It is imperative that each club takes this responsibility seriously and insures the continued success of Kiwanis by choosing strong, competent leaders who will guide our clubs in the coming year. Now is the time to do this. By electing our club leaders early, we insure they receive all necessary training and have the time to plan for a new administrative year that will grow our clubs and better serve our communities.
Once your elections are held I ask each club secretary to notify Kiwanis International by filing your election report on International's on-line portal. The sooner your records are updated the sooner we can begin getting help and information directly to the new officers.
Secretaries, as you update your election report I ask you again to please review your club roster and make sure all information, especially postal and email addresses for your members, are up to date. More and more information is distributed electronically to our membership and we need accurate records to guarantee that information is being received.
Lastly, please encourage all your members, but especially your new officers for 2018-19, to attend our International Convention (ICON) in June in Las Vegas and our District Convention ( ) in August in Syracuse. Each will be a great event to learn more about Kiwanis, help shape it future by electing its new leaders and to share that wonderful New York District Kiwanis fellowship that makes us such a special organization. Information about ICON is available on the International website and the information concerning DCON will be available soon.
Looking forward to seeing you in Vegas and Syracuse!
