Today is April 1st and it snowed here at Kamp. It has been a long winter and by now we hoped spring would've sprung. Inclement weather it maybe but this isn't stopping us here at Kamp or you wonderful Kiwanians throughout the state from ramping up your preparations for camp this summer.
So, to give you a little update on where we are at. As of today, 65 percent of our staff requirement is filled for the summer and already we have hired from more than 12 different countries. Camper applications have been mailed out and our online applications are live and available. To help with the transition to online applications Kamp Kiwanis' YouTube channel has published an application tutorial posted for anyone who may need a little help with the process. For those who prefer more personal assistance we here in the office are fully ready to field any calls to help in any way we can.
Early registrations and reservations look very positive. In conjunction with the amazing response to Governor Hank's military camper project, early indications for enrollment this season are looking fantastic.
Thanks to all the Kiwanians and Kiwanis Clubs that donated to First Lady Bonnie's Arts and Crafts for Kamp. The results were amazing. Those two are an amazing duo.
AS the remainder of the snow melts and starts to reveal camp, early signs are that we have survived this winter with minimal damage to the facilities and property. In the coming weeks many members of the Foundation Board and numerous other Kiwanis volunteers will be coming to Kamp. They will complete existing and new projects and continue the wonderful regeneration of Kamp property.
We hope to see many of you at our open house/work weekend May 17–May 19. It is the continued generosity of Kiwanians through the state that allows us here at Kamp to provide a life-changing experience to the campers we serve. To truly understand the difference you make in the lives of those campers, we invite you to visit the Kamp and hopefully get a deeper sense and understanding of the great things you do.
So in short camp is in a great place right now and we thank you for that. Now if it could stop snowing and the sun could come out then we would be able to begin work outdoors. We hope to hear from each of you this season. Please let us know if you would like us to attend one of your meetings, we would love to talk about the foundation with you.
