My name is Nadyli Nuñez and I'm the New York District Key Club Governor for the 2010-11 service year. Did you know the New York District Key Club is the 3rd largest District in the world with over 14,000 members (250 clubs)? Well you best believe it!
These high school students serve their homes, schools and communities year round in effort to make this world a better place. So far, these unbelievably dedicated Key Club members have completed more than 39,000 hours and raised over $131,000 for the various charities we support. In addition, the District Board has been making publications available on our website (http://www.nydkc.org) that helps us reach our goals.
Improving your relationship with your sponsoring Key Club Tip #1: Email/call the club president and ask if you can attend one of their meetings. This incorporates many components required to have a strong relationship. For one, you can see how well the club is doing by listening to what projects they're working on and simply sitting in the meetings. It also helps by giving you face-to-face time with the club officers and faculty advisor. This will help your relationship expand beyond emails.
Improving your relationship with your sponsoring Key Club Tip #2: Ask the Key Club to add you to their mailing list, if they have one. You will be constantly informed on what they're working on, whether it's on projects or club improvements. Be sure to invite the club officers to join your Kiwanis club's mailing list. They will know what your club is doing and volunteer in projects your club is participating in as well.
