New Club Opening

We often say that Kiwanis is the BEST service organization in the world. If we REALLY believe that, then I believe that EVERY community deserves a Kiwanis Club along with the Service Leadership Clubs that no other service organization has in its portfolio.
During The Formula, from 2013 - 2018, the New York District was 9th in total clubs built (29) in Kiwanis International out of 63 Districts/Entities. We only lost 1 club during that 5 years. I am thankful that the vast majority of the Formula Team that I assembled in December 2013 served the entire 5 years.
The New Club Opening process requires a lot of planning BEFORE the recruitment process even begins. To form a club, have all the promotion materials and applications in hand BEFORE you start. It is key to have 2-3 people from the community committed to form the new club prior to your new club opening campaign. The 2018-19 lieutenant governors have received a lot of information on the entire Club Opening process and the New Club Opening Zone Chairs have all opened clubs during the Formula, so we have the experienced Kiwanians in place. We HAVE MANY SITES IDENTIFIED. Contact your Division lieutenant governor and/or New Club Opening Zone Chair for details.
The opening of a new club can be an entire uplifting experience not only to those who join, and to those who helped open the club, but to the entire community. Charter Night is an exciting celebration when the governor presents the charter, the new officers and members receive their charter certificates and pins but unspeakable joy to those who worked the process of helping to form the new club.
Every community deserves a Kiwanis Club. The excitement of community service ignites the process of changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Will you be part of it?
