This new Kiwanis year, Governor Joe has directed that we once again combine Membership and New Club Opening as a joint effort. After all, there is little different in opening a new club and working to revitalize a weak one - the key is new members.
International President Daniel Vigneron has asked his governors to stress not just opening new clubs, but strengthening existing clubs at risk, those under 15 or 20 members. Gov. Joe has asked me to head up this membership development unit, and I will be assisted by Vice Chair Distinguished Past Lt. Gov. Tricia Hook from Canandaigua, the four "Executive Assistants" that the governor has appointed through the district, and a group of regional or "zone" people to coordinate the local effort.
