Foundation Annual Meeting

Three members were elected to the District Foundation Board. Two were re-elected: Tom Poccio and Dennis Gabel, both of the Staten Island club. Joining the board for the first time is Jacqueline Dufresne, a member of the Newburgh club.

Poccio and Foundation Treasurer David Vail said Kamp Kiwanis' finances are doing well, and they expect to end the year in the black.

House of Delegates

Two bylaw amendments had been submitted for consideration by the House of Delegates. The first would have created a new per-member assessment of $7.20, with $3.60 dedicated to support Circle K, and $3.60 dedicated to support Key Club. The money received would replace the $33,000 currently allocated in the district budget for the support of those organizations. The change required a two-thirds vote for approval. It failed.

The second proposal, also from the Nunda club, sought to increase dues to the district by $4.80 per member. The club withdrew the proposal following the defeat on the first vote.

Elections also were held, with both candidates running unopposed. Gordon Soderholm of the Nunda and Holland clubs was elected governor for 2024-25, and Carl Ingram of the Mohawk Valley and New Hartford-Westmoreland clubs was elected governor-elect for the coming year.
