2009 Kamp Kiwanis Open House
The new Patchogue Cabin was dedicated at the Kamp's annual Open House on June 6. The club sponsored the cabin, which was constructed during the previous few weeks by club members and other volunteers. Below, Foundation President Sal Anelli (left) and Patchogue President Angelo Tarantino speaking just before the red ribbon wrapping the cabin was cut.
After the ribbon cutting, those in attendance got a chance to tour the cabin, pictured below
The incoming lieutenant governors received a tour of the kamp (shown above). They are learning about some unexpected repair work, the evidence of which can be seen in the foreground, to the kamp's dam. The dock area of along the pond also is undergoing renovations in preparation for this summer's kamping season, as can be seen at left.

One of the new bricks, shown at left, is in memory of Realinda Farrell McCoy, sponsored by the Queens West Division. McCoy, who had held several district chairmanships and was a past president of the Richmond Hill Woodhaven club, died in March. Pictured above is her husband, Antoine McCoy, and their nieces. At right is Wayne Scheriff, Lt. Gov. of the Queens West Division.
From left, Sal Anelli, Helen Stern, Pat Stern and Gov. Doreen Pellittieri. The Sterns were on hand to dedicate a brick in the memory of Erwin Stern for his 53 years of service to the Eastwood Syracuse Club. The brick can be seen on the wall between Helen, his widow, and Pat, their daughter.
The lieutenant governors for 2009-10 and Gov. Elect David Booker also gathered for their first meeting over the weekend and participated in the open house. They are pictured along with District Secretary Ann Sewert and Gov. Doreen Pellittieri.
