2010 Kamp Kiwanis Open House
The annual Kamp Kiwanis Open House took place Saturday, May 15, at the Kamp. Volunteers who had come to help with pre-kamping season projects were busy during the day.
District Foundation President Sal Anelli (left) talked to those assembled about the additional bricks which have been added to recognize contributions to the Kamp.
One of the dedications was for the Dr. J. Donald Herring Gathering Place, the new name for the kamp's tent village. It will honor Herring who served as district governor in 2007-08 and served as secretary to the District Foundation from 1996 until 2009. At left is the placque marking the dedication which was shown at the open house. It is decorated with a dreamcatcher, which was part of his theme for his year as governor.

Part of the projects at the kamp this year includes the completed concrete work to secure the end of the dam pond.
This area, used by kampers to launch canoes on the pond, also has been rebuilt during the past year.
