The convention event the New York Delegation was waiting for all week at the Las Vegas convention was the election of Kiwanis International Vice President for the coming year. That person then moves to the post of vice president-elect for the year after, and becomes International President for 2012-13.
On Friday afternoon more than three hours of business took place before the vote, which saw New York's Past Governor Tom gaining the post in a race against Randy DeLay from the Texas-Oklahoma District.

The delegates were in their places as the long afternoon of business got under way.

When the announcement was made that their candidate had won, the New York delegates leapt to their feet in celebration.

When the day's activities ended, New York Kiwanians gathered to congratulate Tom and his committee volunteers for their efforts. Joining the celebration where his supporters from many other Kiwanis districts.
