An oversized check for $5,000 forced Past Gov. Peter Mancuso (right) to move out of the way when Gov. David Booker made a presentation to District Foundation President Sal Anelli. The check represented the proceeds from the Basket Raffle at the Mid-Year Conference, which Booker designated for Kamp Kiwanis.
The Foundation Board awarded Gov. David Booker a Diamond Kaiser in recognition of his efforts this year to raise money for Kamp Kiwanis. Pictured are Jennings, Past Gov. David Rothman, Gov.-Elect Mike Malark, Gov. David Booker and Foundation President Sal Anelli.

Three candidates were elected to three-year terms on the District Foundation Board. All three are current board members; Edward Sexton and Al Norato Jr. were re-elected, and Adam Brenner serves this year as the District Board representative and will join the board as a director in October.
Many donations to the District Foundation and Kamp Kiwanis were announced during the meeting, including a $35,000 pledge from the Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, club to fund the construction of a new Arts and Crafts building at the camp.
Foundation President Sal Anelli noted that $15,000 of the pledge has already been paid and work will begin on the building once the kamping season is over.
Foundation Vice President Joseph Battista said the new building will be built next to the existing building, and once it's ready for use, the existing building will be removed and that area will be used as an outside work area for the new structure.
