2010 District Convention
House of Delegates
Convention Resolutions
The following Resolutions were each unanimously approved during the House of Delegates session:
- Honoring Alison Mandel and Richard Hall as the Convention Honorees for their years of service with the district's Circle K program, as master Kiwanis trainers, and as the workers behind the scenes at many district events. Mandel, a Kiwanian since 1989 who has served twice as club president and as a lieutenant governor of the Chemung Division, has been advisor to the Elmira College Circle K since it was founded in 1994. Hall, a 25-year-member of Kiwanis, is a distinguished past lieutenant governor of the Long Island North Division.
- Thanking the committee for the Binghamton convention for their efforts in planning for the event, especially co-chairs Peter Papastrat and Melanie Ziel, and the clubs of the Susquehanna Division and Lt. Gov. Irene Brinsko.
- Noting the presentation of the Gerald P. Christiano Distinguished Service Award, bestowed by the Past Governor's Council, on Edward Sexton. Sexton, active in Key Club for 26 years, has been a District Foundation Board Member for 19 years.
- Thanking International Trustee Jim Jennings, who is the counselor to the New York District this year, for his assistance to the district.
- Noting the election of Thomas DeJulio as vice-president of Kiwanis International for the coming year, thanking him for his leadership and commitment to Kiwanis, and endorsing his uncontested election as Kiwanis International President-Elect at the 2011 Kiwanis International Convention, and as President of Kiwanis International at the 2012 Kiwanis International Convention.
