The Kiwanis Club of Minisink Valley recently donated $500 to a local Lymphoma Walk that was started and organized by Minisink Valley Middle School 7th grader Jillian Dolce. The event was on Sunday, Oct. 17. Jillian made numerous calls to county and community officials for help and received great support from all. More than 800 walkers and 75 sponsors turned out to support Jillian and more than $15,000 was raised. The money will go to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the name of Jillian's friend. The project started off as 10 hour confirmation community service project and just grew. The club invited Jillian and her proud parents to a dinner meeting to honor her and learn more about the project. Congratulations Jillian great job! Jillian is currently seeking to become a member of our Builders Club at her school.
