Fordham Circle K Assembles Cards for Seniors

club news

Fordham Circle K members recently held an on-campus "pizza party" with over 30 members assembled to write cards to older adults enrolled in the DOROT Program.
DOROT is the Hebrew word for “generations." In 1976, DOROT founders were graduates of Columbia University’s social work program seeking to serve the elderly with the ultimate goal of alleviating social isolation.
DOROT's reach has expanded through the years to serve and welcome people of all faiths and cultures. It's programs are currently available in New York City and Westchester County, engaging 10,000 seniors and volunteers annually.
Circle K volunteers use their artistic skills in DOROT's "Caring Cards" Program to make handmade birthday, holiday, and "thinking of you" cards to connect with and improve the lives and health of homebound seniors.
