Members of the Saint Ignatius School Builders Club sponsored by Fordham Kiwanis participated in a "Pasta Bowl" supporting the New York Common Pantry that addresses food insecurity in the Bronx.
In the spirit of this year's "Super Bowl" at which one female superstar helped lead the charge, the female Builders club members in the 7th grade won a contest with their male counterparts by collecting the most boxes of pasta and winning a version of the "Lombardi Trophy": a celebratory pizza party.
More than 100 pounds of pasta was collected that will help feed hungry families in Hunts Point, one of the poorest sections of the South Bronx where their school is located.
