On Oct. 5, Adirondack Kids and Central Adirondack Kiwanis sponsored the 17th Annual Adirondack Kids Day in Inlet. New this year was the first annual Loon Call Contest.

The event is inspired by the best-selling children's book series, "The Adirondack Kids" by Gary and Justin VanRiper. The event is dedicated to children and provided many free activities.

The Adirondack Kids authors provided a book display and book signing at the Inlet Library.

The First Annual Loon Calling contest drew many young contestants. The winners were 1st Place, Audrey House; 2nd Place, Olivia Rupracht; 3rd Place, Levi Van Riper, the Judges were ECO Loren Traynor and ECO Lt. Robert Higgins; Gary Lee and Kiwanis President, Carmen Mastroianni.
