The Monticello and Woodridge Kiwanis Clubs joined together once more to bring smiles to the residents at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility and the Care Center at Sunset Lake, which are both located in Liberty. Kiwanis Hudson River West Lt. Gov. Fran Amelio was also in attendance and enjoyed mingling with the residents.
The residents were thrilled to be presented with little gifts - candy, stuffed animals, body lotion, Find the Word and Crossword Puzzles - that were accompanied by hand-made cards letting them know that they are being thought of and wished a Happy Valentine's Day.
This was a group effort of both Kiwanis Clubs and their service leadership clubs consisting of Fallsburg Central School K-Kids, Monticello High School Key Club and The Aktion Club of Sullivan County, which is comprised of individuals from Arc Greater Hudson Valley, New Hope Community and The Center for Discovery. All these service clubs truly enjoy helping out in the community. The Middle School students in Amanda Curless' class also contributed beautiful cards to this project.
